I actually rang them to say "I think I'm getting a bit close to finishing" and they were a bit "so prove it or we won't do anything".. And then a week later I get a letter to say they're going to stop it anyway. Very odd. SLC are a bit crap it has to be said.

Typical of the SLC I noticed that a payment hadn't gone out when it ought to have done, called them up, and discovered that I had less than my monthly rate left to clear, so had stopped my payments. Presumably they were just waiting for me to contact them and sort it all out for them. I celebrated my newfound wealth by promptly walking out of the job I was in, returning to meagre and sporadic temporary work for nearly two years. Happy days.
